This time, our team decided to explore Shilin-Jiantan area (in Taipei). At first, while we were doing extensive field research, we discovered plenty of tourist spots and culture history in Shilin. On the basis of our survey, Shilin Night Market (SHM) is the most well-known and remarkable place in Shilin. Due to the fact that merchandisers around SHM diversify their goods according to students’ needs, we can assume that SHM is a student-oriented area and the main customer group is the students. After taking substantial amount of pictures and interviewing people who visited SHM, we found that the representing colors of SHM are warm colors. Additionally, shopping and eating are their primary reasons for visiting SHM.
According to our survey, we decided to design the shopping bag for promoting the tourism image of SHM. SUPER BAG is a shopping bag to represent Shilin. We collected the images of SHM and utilized the questionnaires to elect the most favorable and powerful image. With an eye to showing how great Shilin is, we used all the collected information when planning our pattern and bag design.

The texture of the bag is made of paper and it is an ONE DAY BAG. Altogether, we created 3 kinds of bags as follows:
A. This is the biggest bag, and people can collect lots of things in the bag. It can change the format in three way; pattern photos are the signboard.
B. This is the medium one. Pattern photos are the people in night market. It is also the most convenient bag for collecting garbage or your personal items.
C. This is the smallest one. You can put money in the front bag. After gathering the litter, you can save the front bag and throw the back bag.

Develop Reunion represents different meanings for everyone, especially within the family members. For the elder members of a family, seeing all his/her children gathering together is the happiest thing in the world. The spirit of having a reunion dinner is not simply about gathering all family members together but also to intensify the relationships between the family members through having a meal. However, due to the lower birthrate, nuclear family has become the main family form, and the bond between members become weaker than it used to be. While the world has gotten more connected through various forms of media, people are in fact becoming more disconnected, losing the art of conversation and real human interaction. In order to change the situation, we want to intensify the bond of family members by utilizing different ways of traditional ceremonies.
Concept By defining “futuring” and analyzing family gathering eating patterns between nowadays and the traditional ways, we picked heirloom as our initial direction, and settled on cups and plates to be the main elements in our design; in Eastern culture, cups and plates are common heritage. Different flowers have different meanings. In the East, peony is represented as “Reunion” and “Honor”, and also the most common pattern on Taiwanese fabric. Tea ceremony is a traditional culture in Taiwan, and we used to drink tea for gathering and connecting with others. Nevertheless, tea is considered simply as a type of drinks now. In order to preserve the original meaning of the tea, we decided to create the Peony Tea Cups.
Combining the meaning of flowers and tea ceremony, Peony Tea Cups, as a symbol of “reunion”, are used in the end of the dinner. When someone pours tea in the tallest cup, tea will overflow to the rest of the cups; this phenomenon represents the continuing of the family line and passing down the family traditions. Tea tasting also acts as a method for strengthens family relationships. The number of the Peony Tea Cups being used will be modified according to the number of family members in the reunion dinner; the number are usually six, ten, or twelve, which are the number of people in traditional reunion dinner per table.
In this work, we not only try to evoke the significance spirit of tea ceremony but the importance on reunion and treasuring the time of gathering together with family through the drinking of a cup of tea.
